Much of my drawing happens in local eateries & drinkeries. This spread includes three: coffee at 3 Cups and the view next door to Mary Todd’s Workers Bar & Grill, cocktails at Supper Club, and a pleasant afternoon in Blue Scorcher. It was fall; pumpkins lined the window sill. Our friend Pat appeared and never noticed me sketching her. Or the most basic of sketching advice: draw what’s in front of you. Which was Greg, working away at his journal. He read me the Joubert quote, and doesn’t it just sum up these years of drawing in my home town?
