Summer comes to an end. Calloo callay. The busy life slows down and there is time enough to draw, and oh, how I want to get out and draw. So we head for East Mooring Basin, Astoria, because the sun is shining, and I settle myself out on the pier. I think I will draw the boats, and I do, but the sea lions are roaring so I give them my attention. The wind is blowing a gale out here in the river. I finally give up, blown to pieces, intending to finish it later.
But – later is when I show Greg – and he says, “I love it when the page is unfinished like this.” So, I thought, maybe you will too.
You know what Derwent color is just the right color for those pesky sea lions? … Bark!
